Agent Branding 101 Marketing Tips Vault
Having a successful career as a Real Estate Agent isn't as easy as most people think it is. Sure - the agents find out right away how tough it is but for people NOT in real estate, they think it's a piece of cake job. They think most agents sit at their desks, wait for the phones to ring, put signs in yards and wait for buyers. They think most agents make lots of money in commissions for doing barely any work.
In a recent study, it was found that the most prestigious occupation in the country was a doctor while a used car salesman was at the very bottom of this long list. Where do you feel most people rated real estate agents in terms of having a prestigious job? You guess it - second to last - just a little better than a used car salesman!
Obviously their perception of real estate agents is a little off. For the most part, the majority of agents are hard working, good people trying to make an honest living. With no disrespect to Used Car Salesman, I feel that Real Estate Agents do not get the credit they deserve in doing what they do. After all, buying or selling a home is one of the single most important investments in most peoples lives and the Real Estate Agent is the person who has the greatest influence on them in making the right decision. There is a lot of importance placed upon the agent to look out for their client during this very important transaction ... yet the Real Estate Agent is not respected and appreciated as much as they should be.
Not by my company. We know the value of having good agent representation. We also know that going from a new agent to an successful agent is no piece of cake. Simply getting a real estate license and signing on with a good Brokerage does not guarantee success. Good planning, smart marketing and hard work is required to get to the next level.
