Meet Our Company - First Place Publishing Inc.

We are a privately-owned marketing firm located on the outskirts of Greenville, South Carolina. Branding for real estate professionals is our niche and we've been doing it for the past 12 years.

In addition to running the office, the President Glenn Johnson travels the country teaching marketing seminars to help agents and loan officers become more successful. Thousands have attended and everyone enjoys the presentation and also learns valuable tips and techniques that can be immediately implemented into their marketing campaign.

Glenn has always been driven, independent and hard working. His first job at the age of 13 was working at Jake's Pizza in Minneapolis. He'd ride his bike back and forth to work, washing dishes for the fantastic rate of $1.85 per hour. Although it doesn't sound like much, to a teenager he was absolutely thrilled when he received his paychecks. In 1980 his family moved to Chicago, where he stayed for the next 26 years.

Glenn continued working and stashing away his paychecks all through high school and college, having saved enough money to put himself through college without any student loans or any major financial help from his parents. Always wanting to run his own business, Glenn majored in Enterprise Management, graduating with his Bachelor's Degree from Northern Illinois University in 1989.

Leaving his job as Advertising Manager for a local paint company, Glenn moved into the graphic design arena working as a Desktop Publisher for a printing firm in Hoffman Estates. Ever since that time, Glenn has worked in the graphic design/printing industry, using software programs such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark Xpress.

In June 1997, Glenn fulfilled his dream and started his own firm: First Place Publishing. The company's focus and niche was in the real estate industry, helping agents with marketing products. For the next 12 years Glenn has continued to run First Place Publishing, not only doing the graphic design work but also holding the seminars to agents all across the nation.

One thing that Glenn wanted to do as a company was to enable all real estate professionals a means of acquiring their own brand identity without costing an arm and a leg. While there are many ad agencies and design studios available to do this type of work, often times the fees to accomplish this were so high that it wasn't financially feasible to even start the process for most agents. Glenn wanted to develop a product that would provide a unique, colorful, professional brand identity at minimal cost to his clients. His Marketing Made Easy Design Package provides each client with branded business cards, postcards, brochures and also a photo logo.

The number one priority at First Place Publishing is customer service. Even more important than price, Glenn believes that if you take good care of your customers, they'll not only stay customers for years to come but will also refer their friends and collegues. Just like in the real estate business, referrals are highly valued and appreciated at First Place Publishing.

Glenn currently resides in Easley, South Carolina. Having been married to his college sweetheart since 1992, they have three wonderful daughters, ages 14, 9 and 6. Of course, the family would not be complete without their terrier Rebel, the trusty, loud but harmless and loving family dog.
